I attempt to capture images in public places, with humor, and an eye toward the abstract. I tract over common ground with an interest in landscapes, seascapes, peoplescapes and anything that looks to have a beating heart just below the surface. My photographs are not just the sum of my emotional content but the sum of all my experiences. This concept is explained best by Ralph Eugene Meatyard when he wrote: "I think every work of art expresses, more or less purely, more or less subtly, not feelings & emotions which the artist has, but feelings & emotions which the artist knows; his insight into the nature of science, his picture of vital experience, physical & emotive & fantastic."

Enjoy the images and please write your comments in the Contacts section of my on my website. I would like to hear from you. Gene Davila
